Greetings!
It is wonderful to have some warmer weather and see folks out enjoying our beautiful grounds. Although we do have some hardy souls who go out all winter long, these first warm days bring many more outside. We have a beautiful sensory garden in the front of the building, a wonderful gazebo and many places to walk, sit and be a part of an activity or a conversation. Come out and join us sometime!
We highlighted this week with our April Resident of the Month program. As always, we heard some wonderful stories and were both enlightened and enriched by learning more about some of the very special folks who live at Cedar Village.
On Thursday, we took two buses full to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Museum Center. If you have not seen it, be sure to find time to do so before it ends. It is a fabulous exhibit, both fascinating and educational. The residents enjoyed every minute of it and there were some wonderful questions and lively conversations that followed.
This coming Sunday will find the community's Yom Hazikaron ceremony at Cedar Village. We will come together in recognition of Israel's Memorial Day and there will be the annual laying of wreaths at the Jerusalem Rock in the front of Cedar Village. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. and we would love to have you join us.
We will also celebrate Israel at 65 at Cedar Village next week. On Wednesday, April 17 we will have a concert featuring both Israeli music and performances by both the Cedar Village Choir and the Cedar Village Bell Choir. Feel free to stop by at 2 p.m., you'll find us in the Wilbur and Mary Jean Cohen Religious and Cultural Center.
All the best,
