Josh and Friends give final performance!
Cedar Village E-News
April 5, 2013
Greetings!

Another Passover is complete--now we are all waiting for a bit of spring time to appear!  We love to use our beautiful grounds for walking, visiting, programming and as a lovely spot for residents to sit and read or just relax.  So far, the weather has not cooperated with us but soon we hope!

Weather has not stopped us from a new initiative with our staff.  We've begun a walking challenge with a goal of walking across America!  We have a Cedar Village team, working with our health insurance provider, and folks are tracking their steps online every day.  It is great to see so many people checking their pedometers and comparing their number of steps each day.  It is easy for folks in the caregiving professions to forget to take care of themselves--this is our first effort, of a number we have planned, to try and keep our staff healthy and help them to be healthier!

On Thursday evening, we had a wonderful concert with our friends from CCM.  Each year we have a group of students, headed by a senior, who come out and perform for us.  This year we had Josh and Friends and these incredibly talented young people gave the residents much joy.  Thursday's performance was the last for Josh and Friends and after the concert there were lots of hugs and handshakes and well wishes as the graduating students head off to their careers.  Next year we will have Hannah and Friends and we look forward to more wonderful events.  This is another example of the great programs made possible by the Harkavy Fund, which truly enhances the lives of our residents.

All the best,
