Cedar Village E-News
March 22, 2013
Greetings!

Passover prep is in full swing and next week Cedar Village will become what we teasingly call "Seder Village" for the holiday.  Actually, we already got a jump on the holiday because on Tuesday we had our annual intergenerational Seder with the students from Rockwern Academy.  It's something we look forward to every year and both the residents and the children thoroughly enjoy their shared experience.

For some time, Cedar Village has made e-cards available through our website. You can send a personalized greeting to a resident, patient or tenant, choosing your own design and message, and we print it and deliver it within one business day. We've added some new card choices for Passover so please feel free to visit us online and send a holiday greeting!

Next week we will hold a community Seder, our Health Care Seder, two traditional Seders and a chocolate Seder. Doesn't get much better than that, does it?  In all seriousness, Passover is a very special time of year for our residents.  We share holiday memories and stories, we discuss everything from our favorite brisket recipes to the secrets of perfect sponge cake, and we come together as a family to mark this important season.  Our staff receive additional training on the holiday as well to ensure that this is a special time for all.

We had some other special events this week as we prepared for the holiday.  We had a concert on Sunday night by the Ensemble Eclectique, fifteen students from the School for Creative and Performing Arts. This group will be traveling to Poland during their spring break and will perform original jazz interpretations of traditional Jewish melodies at the Galicia Museum in Krakow.  We were thrilled to host a preview concert at Cedar Village and we thank Jeff Seibert of the Mayerson Foundation for arranging this wonderful event!

On Thursday, we had  our friends from the Cincinnati Zoo join us.  They come often and bring a variety of animals for us to learn about and see.  It's always a great event and this one was no exception.

We wish you and your family a healthy and happy Passover--

All the best,
