Cedar Village E-News
March 15, 2013
Greetings!

It is hard to believe that it is the middle of March and we are already talking about Passover!  It is just over a week away and we are in full prep mode at Cedar Village.  Imagine how big a job that it--two full commercial size kitchens to clean and prepare, 12 pantries in the Health Care Center, the Deli and so much more.  Cleaning, changing out all of the dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans . . . Not quite the same scale as at home but we have lots of extra hands and a well thought out plan!  As always, we will have no shortage of seders at Cedar Village this year.  Our large community seder is Monday, March 25 at 4 p.m., we have traditional seders both Monday and Tuesday nights, a Health Care seder at lunchtime on Thursday and a fun chocolate seder on Friday afternoon, March 29 at 1:30.  We'd love to have you join us for any or all of those events!

We had a great reunion this week with our friends from Otterbein who were part of our Interfaith Mission to Israel this past fall.  We had lunch together, watched the video from our Mission that was reently completed, and then the group attended the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit together.  It was a great day for everyone and a wonderful chance to reconnect with our good friends!

A number of you were able to join us for Teepa Snow's presentation at the end of February.  One of our attendees was the daughter of one of our therapy staff, who happens to be 7 years old.  When she came home, she asked her mom how to spell dementia! She's since written a report for her class and helped to teach her classmates about the tools we use to care for individuals with dementia.  It is true, we cannot start too early!

On Saturday, Cedar VIllage will celebrate it's 16th birthday.  It certainly is a "sweet 16" and there will be a number of celebrations over the course of the next week.  Happy Birthday Cedar Village!

All the best,
