On July 16th, the Pacific Ridge community is invited to meet this summer's HOP participants and hear about their personal experiences with the program, as well as stories about the conflict's impact on their lives, during a public panel discussion. Please take advantage of this opportunity for an evening of thought-provoking global engagement.

Join Pacific Ridge at The Old Globe on August 29th!

For the 6th year in a row, Pacific Ridge families are invited to come together for an evening at Balboa Park's beautiful Old Globe Theatre. This year's selected performance is Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, a fast-paced, farcical tale of two sets of identical twins accidentally separated at birth. A link for ticket sales, complete with a promotional code for Pacific Ridge families, is on its way. Save the date of August 29th at 8:00 p.m., and be on the lookout for a summer email with more information about this popular community outing.

Eighth Graders Celebrate Promotion to Upper School
The last day of school, Tuesday, June 9th, was marked by an important rite of passage, as Pacific Ridge eighth graders were promoted to high school in a formal yet lighthearted ceremony in the Athletic Center. Middle School Head Andy Wright addressed the rising 9th-grade class, encouraging students to remain mindful of their attitude, generosity and integrity. "This transition will offer you more privileges, and will require of you more responsibility," he said. Mission Awards were given to Middle School students who demonstrated a commitment to various aspects of the Pacific Ridge mission statement. Then, each student was individually recognized and crossed the stage to receive a diploma. Upper School, here they come!

8th graders received handshakes and congratulations from
Head of School Dr. Bob Ogle and Middle School Head Andy Wright.

Students Share Global Travel Experiences
On June 9th, the Pacific Ridge community had the opportunity to learn more about this year's amazing global travel experiences during Global Rewind. In Community Hall, juniors and seniors manned tables displaying artifacts collected during the trips, and shared anecdotes and reflections from their time completing service work, immersing themselves in cultures and exploring landmarks around the world. In two of the campus reading rooms, slideshows exhibited photographs captured on the 7th - 10th grade trips to the Santa Monica Mountains, Williamsburg, China and the Northern Sierras. Thank you to our students and faculty for participating in the travel program, accepting in equal measure the challenges and joys that travel brings, and for embracing the opportunity to learn more about yourselves, others and the world.

7th Graders Fund New Well for South Sudan School
The New Generation Primary School in South Sudan is the proud recipient of a new well, thanks to Pacific Ridge 7th graders and those who supported the students' fundraising efforts. The students exceeded their $3,650 goal so quickly that H20 For Life's implementing partner was able to start and complete the project early. The new well will provide New Generation Primary and its community with easy access to fresh, clean water. Patty Hall, H20 for Life founder, had this to say about Pacific Ridge's contribution: "What your students are providing is life saving and live changing. We appreciate your support, and the recipient school will forever be grateful."
