Help Our Community Stay Healthy

Spring is a busy time and we want our students to remain healthy! Parents, please encourage your children to practice preventive measures such as hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding close contact with sick people. If your children get sick, please keep them at home from school until they are fever-free for 24 hours. Thank you for your cooperation.

Creativity Takes Center Stage at Spring Arts Festival

On Friday, April 24th, students and families enjoyed an afternoon celebrating the arts at Pacific Ridge. Students and visitors were wowed by performances by A Cappella, theater, improv, dance, musical groups and more. For those looking for a hands-on art experience, a pottery wheel, handmade card designing, terrarium building, and henna art were among the many offered activities. This year's STEAM-related projects included laser light writing and exploring the art of geometry. Thanks go to the arts faculty for their hard work organizing the day's events. For more pictures, please visit Pacific Ridge's Facebook page.

Audiences Enroll in The School For Lies
Seventeenth-century farce met modern banter and timeless humor during the April 24th and 25th performances of The School For Lies. David Ives' renowned comedy, inspired by Molière's The Misanthrope, relies on rapid repartee to tell the tale of sharp-tongued widow Celimene, who has kept suitors at bay with her acidic wit, until she finally meets her match. The cast proved game for the challenge of Ives' demanding dialogue - delivering tongue-twisting verse with ease, delight, and a sense of playfulness that proved contagious to everyone in attendance.

Senior Projects Designed to Leave Lasting Impressions

For the past four months months, members of the Class of 2015 have been hard at work on Senior Signatures. The capstone projects give graduating seniors a chance to leave their mark on Pacific Ridge in a variety of creative ways. Some students chose to leave the legacy of knowledge, delivered through Community Life speeches on personal revelations, and tips for making the most out of high school. Others aimed to improve students' lives through the creation of systems including an online lost and found database and a mentor network that connects students to adults in the community with professional knowledge to share. Still other students left their mark artistically via video messages, a quote wall, and painting a portion of the school's pre-construction walkway.

Senior Jennifer Curiel discusses how, as a new student at Pacific Ridge, she moved past her fears and found acceptance, friendship and her true self.
