Pippin Cast and Crew Deliver Magical Production
The Pacific Ridge community was treated to four outstanding performances of Pippin on February 5th - 7th. Audiences were wowed by complex choreography, impressive vocals, expert musicianship and spirited acting. The hard-working crew kept the show on track, managed the act-by-act transformations of versatile set pieces, and provided special effects "magic." Congratulations and thanks go to Director Alison Trattner, to all students involved in the production, and to the many parents who generously donated their time and energy to help make Pacific Ridge School's 7th annual musical a big success. Students Study Sustainability at Wild Willow Farm
On February 5th, students in AP and Honors Environmental Science spent the day at Wild Willow Farm in southern San Diego to study sustainable agricultural practices including composting, companion planting, water conservation and natural pesticide use. Wild Willow personnel shared the ins and outs of running a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and explained some of the educational resources the farm provides for those new to the industry. Students got their hands dirty by participating in a few farm projects - weeding, feeding the goats, painting signs and cooking fresh produce for the group.
Say Cheese...Goat Cheese! Senior Paige Miller captured this sweet moment during the Wild Willow Farm field trip.

Students Present Social Justice, Diversity Work
Recently, a group of Upper School students had the opportunity to share their work on diversity and social justice with the Pacific Ridge Board of Trustees. The students shared personal reflections from their time at December's Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, and discussed how the number and variety of campus DIME (Diversity, Inclusivity, Multiculturalism & Equity) groups make Pacific Ridge a welcoming place for all. Students presented information about several DIME groups, including Women's Awareness, Socioeconomic Diversity, Religious Conversations, Gay-Straight Alliance, Peer Ear and Hands of Peace.
Junior Puts Student's Art Dreams on Display
On Friday, February 20th, Annie Meitchik '16 will be hosting an on-campus art exhibit for her independent service learning group, PRS Art Collaboration. Those projects, along with artwork from Pacific Ridge students, will be on display in the Arts & Technology Center from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The event is free, but donations to support the purchase of art supplies for upcoming projects will be accepted.
