TB Screening for 2013-2014 Middle School Service Learning
Middle School parents: Two of our respected Middle School service learning partners, Head Start and The ARC of San Diego, require all volunteers to have proof of a negative tuberculosis screening during the 12 months prior to their service work. In order for your child to have access to the full range of Middle School service learning opportunities in all three trimesters, we highly recommend that you request a TB screening at your child's annual physical. Clinics and some drug stores also administer the test. A dated verification of the negative result can be submitted with your child's health forms by August 1st. Please check your email for more details from the Nursing and Athletic departments.

Class of 2013 Commencement & Celebration
The 71 members of the Class of 2013, many of whom were among the school's founding 7th graders, enjoyed a commencement ceremony on June 13th full of reminiscing and joy. Senior Class President Katherina Nardo and Student Body Vice President Sasha Bechtler-Levin warmly recalled experiences from each of the class's six years at the school. Student Body President Tony Ibrahim thanked faculty members for their commitment and compassion, before introducing former Co-Head of School Dr. Eileen Mullady, who shared insights with the class from her experience with "life after Pacific Ridge." Head of School Dr. Bob Ogle applauded the seniors' reputation for being "irrepressible" and expressed his confidence that their time at Pacific Ridge has imbued them with the ability to achieve, even in the face of life's inevitable adversities. Several seniors serenaded attendees with "Firebirds," a song written by Jake Smith and Kevin Xu for their Senior Signature project. After diplomas were received and the class's senior statement read, the A Cappella ensemble closed the ceremony with a beautiful rendition of "Blessing." For excerpts from Dr. Ogle's commencement address, please click here. Congratulations, graduates!

Soon-to-be graduates enjoy the proceedings.

Proud faculty members prepare to say goodbye.

Alumni, family and friends line up to dole out hugs and congratulations.

Edinburgh Festival Invites Pacific Ridge Theater Students
The Pacific Ridge Theater program has been selected by the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) to attend the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, in August of 2014. There, students will showcase their skills at the world's largest and most prestigious arts festival. High School programs are nominated by state, regional and national theater organizations, with the top theater programs being identified based on their most recent bodies of work, awards, community involvement, philosophies and recommendations. Pacific Ridge's Advanced Theater Arts class, along with theater instructor Alison Trattner, will be working hard to make sure the group can take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. They will be conducting benefit performances, holding film festivals, washing cars and (now and then) wearing kilts! Please stay tuned to support them in their efforts...Bagpipes or Bust!

2012-2013 Annual Fund Completed!
An enormous thank you goes to Pacific Ridge parents, faculty, staff and trustees for your generous support of this year's Annual Fund. Thank you also to our parent and faculty volunteers for your dedication to our fundraising endeavors. Due to all of your efforts, we raised a total of $539,581 and achieved more than 99% participation. Donations like yours sustain and protect each element of the Pacific Ridge mission statement. They support academic programs and faculty professional development, expand the reach of our service learning program and help subsidize the cost of our global programs, which this year sent 433 students to 17 different countries around the world. They also help underwrite performances such as Into the Woods, Picnic and The Boy Friend -- our first ever Middle School musical. There are countless other examples, from athletics to student life, all of which are touched by the Annual Fund. Thank you again for your incredible support of Pacific Ridge!
