Upper School Travel Programs Are Underway!
Students in Pacific Ridge's Upper School have departed for their global travel programs. Ninth graders are exploring China, while sophomores are just heading out for their wilderness adventure in northern California. Juniors and seniors are partaking of eight school-designed trips (Argentina, Cape Eleuthera, Italy, New York City, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey and Utah), traveling on self-designed trips (Ghana, Cuba, Chicago, Puerto Rico, and Iceland - just to name a few), or completing internships. Middle School students begin their travel programs to the Santa Monica mountains and Washington, D.C. next week.

Middle Schoolers Enjoy Field Trips, Fun & Inspiration
During the week before they leave for the Santa Monica mountains and Washington, D.C., Middle School students are both looking back at the year and preparing for their travel programs. Seventh graders conducted Life Science games with students at Leo Carrillo Elementary School, hiked from Cardiff State Beach to Ponto Beach and visited the San Diego Zoo. Eighth graders prepared for their Washingon, D.C. trip by reviewing their busy itinerary and researching the sites they will see. One of their destinations will be the Holocaust Museum, and on Tuesday, May 28th, students had the privilege of meeting Holocaust survivor Dr. Edith Eger. Dr. Eger shared with students her optimism and vitality, along with her extraordinary survival story. To watch Dr. Eger's presentation at a 2012 TEDx program, please click here.
