Tickets Now On Sale For Into The Woods!

The cast and crew of Into The Woods! have been hard at work researching and analyzing the many layers of this award-winning Sondheim musical, and can't wait to share it with the Pacific Ridge community. Set in the mystical Louisiana bayou of the early 1800's, the story intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales, exploring the complex consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. Ms. Trattner is immensely proud of how the ensemble cast is delving into the deep meaning behind the play's playful countenance, and she encourages all families to attend. Tickets are now on sale, and are going fast! To order yours, please visit SeatYourself.

Breaking New Ground: The Giving Season Continues

In December, the Break A Sweat Campaign to build our new athletic center needed only $800,000 to reach its $10 million goal. Through the generosity of our community and a wonderful matching program, we made significant progress toward closing that gap by bringing in over $400,000 more dollars with the match. Gifts and pledges received through the end of January (and payable through June of 2014) may qualify for a 1, 2 or 3X match. Commitments of all sizes have been made, and can still help us reach our objective. Please consider what you can do to help and contact Kari Perry at kmperry@pacificridge.org, or 760-448-9845. Thank you!

Second Life for Your Gently Used Comfy Chair

The Library Learning Commons is in the process of creating a Reading Corner - a quiet place for students and adults to relax, read and maybe enjoy a cup of tea or hot chocolate. If you are in the process of remodeling, or simply have a comfortable upholstered chair you are getting rid of (no sofas or loveseats, please), the Reading Corner will happily give it new life. Donation documentation is available for tax purposes. Questions? Please contact Librarian Ellen Cothran at ecothran@pacificridge.org.

Third Pacific Ridge Student Honored by Coca-Cola Scholars
In December, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation recognized Senior Tony Ibrahim as a Semi-finalist in its annual scholarship competition. The highly selective program supports 1,400 college students each year with scholarships of $3.4 million. Remarkably, a member of each of Pacific Ridge School's first three senior classes has been recognized by the foundation. Tony joins Anisha Mudaliar '11, Finalist and Regional Scholar in 2010-11, and Stephanie Sapp '12, Semi-finalist in 2011-12. Good luck to Tony as he continues in this year's competition.
