Putting the "People" Back in People, Process and Technology
Michael Cardinal, TEK Systems

With the growth of technology and the rise of process to get things accomplished, we often leave out the key part of "People, Process and Technology"--the "People". The common element in any organization is people who run the processes, manage the technology, make the decisions. This session will speak to the importance of people in a world of dynamic systems, dynamic connections and dynamic teams. Let's put "people" back at the front of PPT.

New on Campus

Check out our exciting new offering Certified Agile Process Owner (CAPO)

A myriad of factors are prompting IT organizations to streamline and, in some case, completely reengineer their IT service management processes. Examples include reducing cycle times, automating workflow and expanding value streams to include customers and suppliers. But who ensures that process design and improvement activities achieve the desired outcomes?

Enter...the process owner. A process owner is the individual accountable for the performance of a process and for ensuring the process delivers value to its stakeholders. Applying Agile values and practices such as Scrum ensures processes are incrementally designed with "just enough" control to be effective and efficient. Want to learn more?

This 16 hour course describes process owner responsibilities, the characteristics of agile processes, and how to use Agile Service Management practices - such as managing and prioritizing a process backlog - to continually align process performance with overall business strategies and goals.

The importance of CSI

If you've taken a class with us before, then you know that we always ask for your feedback once the class is complete.  This is part of our Continual Service Improvement program at the Academy.

We found a great blog post on LinkedIn that goes further into the importance of CSI.  You can check it out here.

If this gets you inspired, please join us on September 29 in the virtual classroom to see for yourself just how Continual Service Improvement will benefit your organization!

The Blended Classroom
We have rolled out yet another option for attending our classes.  Previously, you could attend with us either in our classroom in Fort Lauderdale, OR in our virtual classroom. However, for select classes you have your choice!  Welcome to a Blended environment, where you can either attend in our classroom or virtually.  You will enjoy the experience either way you join us, and we know people have different learning styles, so we are here to accommodate everyone.  Our next class being offered in this environment is
Operational Support and Analysis (OSA) on September 14!

More good news, the class is currently 20% off!

We hope you will join us any way that you are able for a great learning experience.
ITSM Academy Alumni
Alumni logo 142px We are always very interested in keeping up with our alumni, and especially getting their feedback after they've joined us.   One of the features on our new website is the ability to leave a product review!

If you go into any offering on our website and go to the "reviews" tab, you can tell us what you think.  We are always interested in what you have to say.

As always, you can feel free to join us at your alumni group on LinkedIn as well!

Labor Day Fun Facts!
ITSM Academy will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2015 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.  Get ready to enjoy your three-day weekend and the unofficial "end of summer" with these labor day fun facts:
  • Oregon first to declare Labor Day an official holiday
    • In February of 1887, the great state of Oregon was the first in the Union to pass law making Labor Day and officially recognized holiday.
  • Labor Day has its origins in Canada!
    • Most Americans consider Labor Day a uniquely American experience, but in all reality, Labor Day has it's origins in Canada. Stemming from 1870's labor disputes in Toronto, in 1872 a parade was held in support of a strike against the 58 hour workweek. As a result, 24 union leaders who were responsible for organizing the event were arrested under anti-union
  • First Waffle House opens on Labor Day
    • In 1955, in Avondale Estates, Georgia, the very first Waffle House opened it's doors to the public. 25 states and 50 years later, Waffle House now counts over 1500 establishments.
