Ann DOWSETT Johnston'71 Author of Drink: The Intimate Relationship Between Women and Alcohol
On April 29, Ann led a provocative discussion for Grade 12 students and their parents, touching upon issues she faced during her struggle with anxiety, depression and alcoholism. Now six years sober, Ann is an advocate for educating students and their parents on women's drinking. Read more
This speaker event was a collaboration of four Toronto girls' schools - Branksome Hall, St. Clement's School, The Bishop Strachan School and Havergal College. The event was held at St. Clement's School.

We are thrilled to share with you that our alumnae magazine, The READ, recently received the SILVER Prix d'Excellence Award from the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE). Competing primarily with universities, Branksome's Silver Award was in the Best Print Magazine category. You, our alumnae, have brought your magazine to this new level of achievement. Thank you to the many people who contributed to our success! The Gold Award went to the University of Toronto and the Bronze Award went to the University of British Columbia. N.B. Six alumnae, along with Branksome's Associate Director of Alumnae Relations, Tanya Pimenoff, chatted for hours during dinner at the Manor Bistro. Careers, travels and family stories - and many Branksome memories - were shared and enjoyed by all.
