Take The Experts With You
Greetings!

Happy New Year to everyone! Have you had tome to catch your breath, slow down a bit, and think about creating new things? I hope so! I've got a lot of new ideas I can't wait to try out.

EuroTool has come out with some new tools and I have added them to my store. My favorite is the new Bead Holding Pliers, a EuroTool exclusive. These pliers hold a bead securely while you paint, decorate, polish, glue, wire wrap or solder your bead. You can find the handy Bead Holding Pliers in my store.

Contest! Contest! Contest! Do you want to win a cool new tool? Here's how! I'd love to see pictures of the jewelry you have been creating. Send me a photo of your best work and each month I will pick a winner to receive a new jewelry making tool.  Send me an email with your entry to [email protected]. Please use "Contest" in the subject line.

Keep creating,

Charlene Anderson

Why I Love Beading and Jewelry Making

  1. If I get tired of a piece of jewelry I can take it apart and remake it.
  2. I love getting compliments on the jewelry I make and wear.
  3. I get to buy lots of beads because they don't take up much space.
  4. Handmade jewelry items make great gifts, and simple ones can be made in a hurry if you need a gift right away.
  5. I love to travel and buy beads whtn I'm traveling. They are different everywhere you venture and relatively easy to pack to bring back home. My favorite places to buy beads? Ghana in West Africa, in India, and in Venice.
  6. I love books and there are a tremendous number of jewelry books and magazines out there for inspiration and general drooling.
  7. I can work on my jewelry projects on a tray in my lap. Things are easy to set aside when I'm done and easy to pick back up when I'm ready to get back to my work.
  8. Jewelry making and beading is one of the most versatile art forms around. From chain maille to lampwork glass to loom weaving, there is something for everyone.
  9. Shiny, matte, glass, wood, metal, bone, gemstone...it doesn't matter. I love beads!
Why do YOU like making things? Let me know!

 January Birthstone: Garnet

Garnet derives its name because of its close resemblance to the succulent pomegranate seed.

There are many myths surrounding the garnet. One Biblical legend is that Noah hung this gem on the ark to light his way through the dark and stormy nights of God's wrath. A Greek myth linked to the garnet is the story of the young goddess of sunshine, Persephone, who was abducted by Hades, god of the underworld. Hades eventually released Persephone, but not before he offered her some pomegranate seeds, which guaranteed her return to him.

You can learn more about the stunning Garnet in my eBay Guide.
