Greetings!
While much of the United States has been dealing with a deadly heat wave, those of us lucky enough to live in Jackson Hole had been treated to one of the most lovely summers in recent memory. The high temperatures have been around 80 degrees, with overnight lows in the 40s. You couldn't ask for better weather.
The Teton County Fair is a big event in western Wyoming, and I am so pleased to report that my chainmaille jewelry entries all received First Place ribbons, with one piece receiving a Division Grand Champion award. One of my handwoven scarves also received a First Place ribbon and won Best of Division. The Division Grand Champions then competed for Best in Show, and I am so pleased that my weaving won Best in Show, competing against Division winners in Sculpture, Pottery,Jewelry (since I won that Division I had two items up for Best in Show), Metal Work, Wood Work, and a whole lot more! All in all I had 9 entries, 9 First Place ribbons, 2 Division Grand Champions, and a Best in Show. And we have some icing on the cake! My husband Ron received Best in Show--- Photography, for his photo of Arazi the Wonder Dog. (For those who are curious, Arazi is a Vizsla, a Hungarian Pointer.) Is the County Fair a big deal where you live? Keep creating, Charlene Anderson
