News and Smart Business Ideas from Vista Lighting
Greetings!

It's an exciting time for all of us at Vista.   This week, we debut three new product lines for architectural lighting at LIGHTFAIR International 2012 in Las Vegas.

These products are the realization of an extensive effort to investigate the evolving needs of lighting professionals and to develop solutions that are truly a step ahead of the industry.

I am extremely proud of the development team who helped make these products a reality.   Their 51 years of combined engineering experience and their desire to listen carefully to customer needs helped us discover revolutionary new ways to address common project challenges.

If you will be at LIGHTFAIR, please come by Booth #4138 to get a hands-on demonstration of our latest innovations.   For those who are unable to attend, I've asked our team to give you a "sneak preview" in the articles below.

We appreciate your support of Vista!

NEW 1500 Series LED Step Lights

step lightsThe new 1500 Series LED Step Lights from Vista give the designer precise, glare-free illumination through sharp-cutoff LED optics and a revolutionary adjustable hot-aiming feature that allows fine-tuning of the light spread in the field.   The modular LED design eases installation and the housings are fully sealed to prevent moisture penetration.

hot aimingHot aiming is made possible with Vista's exclusive Precision Illumination Control (PIC) which accommodates installations where precise placement of light is required without glare or trespass.

The adjustable optics give the fixture a wide application range from narrow areas like stairways to very wide areas like plazas and walkways. The optics provide a 30˚ adjustment range with the maximum candela aim-able 25˚ to 55˚ below horizontal. The optics can be tuned while installed and operational. Holographic diffuser films can be added as an accessory to create shadow-free distributions, even when louvered doors are used. LEDs are available in warm or neutral color temperatures. The PIC also houses universal voltage LED drivers suitable for inputs from 120-277V, with a low-voltage version forthcoming.

The 1500 Series is available in three different sizes with traditional or minimalist styling; bordered, lovered or sheer glass fronts.   Custom doors and silkscreen options available. Units accommodate both interior and exterior installations and are available IC and non-IC rated.

The modular LED design speeds installation: polymeric boxes can be quick-shipped to the job for initial wall installations (also accommodates poured concrete), then internal module is installed and set in finish phase.

NEW 1096 Series Up-and-Accent Fixtures

1096The new 1096 Series Up & Accent fixtures feature sharp cutoff optics and reflectors for even illumination without glare.  These workhorse fixtures offer proven, versatile performance across a wide variety of commercial and architectural applications.

Precise light placement and control is made possible with a sharp-cutoff optics and is further enhanced with the Vista exclusive Infinity Knuckle.

infinity knuckleThis unique articulating mounting assembly offers infinite adjustment capabilities to facilitate precisely prescribed light placement.   Infinite adjustment is achieved using a spherical grommet, which is also fully sealed to prevent moisture penetration. With this feature, the fixture can be infinitely rotated to the precise position and then securely locked into place.

The optics available are identical to the Vista 1100 Series In-Grade fixtures to promote site design consistency.   Shroud options are available and the reflectors are interchangeable to accommodate specific design requirements.

NEW 1100 Series In-Grade Fixtures

in-grade familyThe new 1100 Series In-Grade fixtures are sealed, multi-purpose units designed for uplighting architectural and landscape features and feature high-efficiency ceramic metal halide lamps with internal tilt and rotational aiming. These are paired with precision optics to achieve a wide variety of light patterns.

The units incorporate high purity anodized specular or semi-specular aluminum optics designed in Photopia provide various distributions for maximum performance and uniformity. Lamps can be aimed 15° from vertical and rotated 360°. All configurations are available with indexed and locking components to allow re-lamping and maintenance without re-aiming.  To promote site design consistency, the optics are identical to Vista 1096 Series Up & Accent fixtures.

Both the larger 1130 and the smaller 1160 LED models can be flush-mounted into a variety of substrates, including concrete or tile, or landscape materials. The smaller 1130 model is ideal when aperture size or luminaire depth is a priority.

in-grade detailsThe clean, aesthetically-pleasing doors are fully machined and passivated stainless steel.   The fixture lenses are crowned tempered glass.

To enhance durability and lasting reliability, the housings are thermoset polymeric and are drive-over capable.  They are designed to accommodate through-branch-circuiting.

Electronic and magnetic ballasting is available, as well as universal voltages.   The fixture is designed with modular components for easy field installation, with the housings available for quick ship.
