CHANGE AND CHALLENGE - CAN'T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER
|
Greetings!
One of the challenges of running a small business is finding time to work ON the business. You may have heard the quote, "If you're not getting better, you're getting worse." This year I set two big goals for myself: one was to find better work/life balance. I began running in January and on April 29th completed my first 5K event. It was a very rewarding experience and will be the first of many races. My second goal was to find ways to reach out to more small businesses who are struggling with their marketing. That leads to my big announcement. Read on . . . . .

5 Ways To Make LinkedIn Work For You
LinkedIn is a powerful social media platform, but tends to be overlooked by many small business owners who are not sure what to DO with it. Here are some suggestions to help you get the most out of your LinkedIn experience. - Complete your profile: LinkedIn makes it easy for you to accomplish this and will prompt you to add more details. DO provide a summary which is a snapshot of your experience, skills, etc. The summary is about you, remember, not your business. Write in the first person. Include keywords in your title and upload a good head shot.
This information will help your connections and potential connections remember you. Don't forget that LinkedIn helps search engines find you too!
- Add your company: Showcase your company information, products and services on a company page. This will link from your personal profile.
Connections will see your company information each time you post a status update.
- Make connections: Connect with people you know, provide and ask for recommendations. You can copy/paste these recommendation in other places (website, newsletter, brochures, etc.)
- Categorize connections: As soon as you accept an invitation to connect, click on the person's profile and add a tag or two to help you identify how you know the connection. If you don't know how to do this, ask me.
You can send private messages to each tagged category.
- Take your connections offline: Find connections who can help you reach potential customers and clients, then pick up the phone and meet them in person.
Solidifying relationships offline opens doors for collaboration, referral and introductions.
