What's Hot, What's Not???

The marketing folks over at Constant Contact sat down for a candid Speakeasy Roundtable discussion on where they feel social media may be heading this year.  Will Google+ and LinkedIn become more popular?  Has Twitter shot itself in the foot by choosing not to integrate with other platforms?  Will this be the year that small businesses learn better strategies for marketing their brand using social media?  Visual sharing is key - who has the best platform?

Saturday, March 30th, 9 - 4 - Kittridge Center, HCC, Holyoke, MA marks the 5th Annual PODCAMP all day "un-conference" style tech/social media event. 

My clients have heard me talk about Podcamp and my experience as both an attendee and topic presenter. Who should attend?  Anyone who is just getting started with social media, who loves tech gadgets or who feels technically challenged at the rate of speed stuff happens today. Topics range from beginner level to more advanced discussions and I know you will come away some great marketing ideas.

Get Your Booth On 

It's Trade Show Season!  If you've never participated in a trade show or table-top expo, you should. They can be a great source of new business IF you know how to get the most out of your participation.  Here are a couple of good options in the Western Mass area that are coming up very soon.

This Month's Organizing Tip:  Clearing The Clutter

Check out your desktop....your COMPUTER desktop, I mean.  Is the screen full of folders, random attachments and images?  Now hop on the internet.  Is your browser window cluttered with toolbar upon toolbar, multiple tabs and screens open?  It's hard to work efficiently when you can't find what you want quickly.  You may be suffering from COMPUTE CLUTTER!

The answer to this problem, of course, is to purge, tidy, eliminate and organize what you see every day when you power up.  For example:  If you keep forgetting to check social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogger, etc. it MAY be because you don't see them.  Here's a short tutorial to help you organize your Favorites or main Toolbar.

Woman's Night of Comedy

I am a member of the Women Business Owner's Alliance, a great group of very energetic women representing hundreds of small businesses throughout Western Mass.  As one of our major fundraisers which supports local charities, the Women's Night of Comedy will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Log Cabin Restaurant.
