Hidden Gems: Ecuador's Historic Tren Crucero

Sightseeing Train

Renovations were recently completed on Ecuador's historic Tren Crucero (cruise train). The sightseeing train travels from Guayaquil to Quito through the Andes Mountains and the Avenue of the Volcanoes, reaching elevations of nearly 12,000 feet during the course of three days and four nights. Passengers can also book only select segments of the trip.

Renovations to the 19th century Spanish Baroque-style train include restored carriages and a reconditioned steam engine.
