We are pleased to announce CCRPC's new website!
Earlier this month, the new ccrpcvt.org was launched after months of working closely with a Burlington-based marketing firm, Place Creative, to better organize and display the diverse and extensive content we manage as an organization. Here are some of the exciting features of the new website, in addition to the overall visual and navigation improvements:
- Fast, easy access to current projects and events by category or municipality
- Responsive, mobile-friendly design that adapts to any screen
-
Improved accessibility and ADA Section 508 compliance
-
Built-in translation feature for non-English speaking visitors
-
Improved calendar, news, and search functions
As the main portal to our organization, this new website allows us to provide our visitors an enhanced, simpler way to find the information they're looking for - no matter their background. The site was designed to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our member municipalities, local, regional and state partners, members of the public, and anyone who may interact with us on any level - small or large. We will continue to make updates and enhancements regularly and look forward to providing a better experience for our visitors.
Best regards,
Charlie Baker Executive Director |

Catherine McMains, CCRPC Jericho Representative (2007-Present)
Catherine became the official representative for Jericho in the fall of 2007. As a way to better bridge the community's wishes and the regional issues of the RPC, in Nov. 2007, Catherine joined the Jericho Selectboard, where she has continued to serve since. Catherine also served on the DRB from 2000 until 2008. During her time on the Commission, Catherine has served on and chaired several RPC committees. With the chair of the Planning Commission, Catherine co-founded the Jericho Energy Task Force where she is still an active member. She also formed the Town Hall Art Committee to bring art into the Town Hall and showcase the many wonderful artists in the area, both professional and amateur. Jericho is a great community to live in and be a part of, so Catherine believes it is important to participate wherever we can to help keep it the vibrant place people want to live. In her spare time, Catherine volunteers at the Old Mill, spends time tending extensive perennial beds and walking her dog on the many nearby trails. Her "guilty pleasure" is watching home shows on HGTV.

Garret Mott, CCRPC Buel's Gore Representative (2000-Present)
Garret joined the RPC in 2000. He is a past Buel's Gore Supervisor as well as chair of the Gore's Planning Commission and the Design Review Board. Garret has always been interested in responsible development and felt that the CCRPC would be a good way to be more actively involved and give something back to the community. He also felt that another rural voice on the CCRPC would be a good thing, as bigger towns can drown out the smaller more rural ones. That led Garret to becoming chair, and the one who hired Charlie Baker, CCRPC's Executive Director. Outside of the CCPRC, Garret is an independent software developer, writing custom software for businesses in VT and in a number of other states. For fun, he skis in the winter and sails his boat in the summer - though the boat is in Maine because he loves the ocean. His boat is 75 years old and wood, so he also spends quite a bit of time working on her - which he describes as "mostly fun."

Chris Roy, CCRPC Williston Representative (2012-Present)
Chris is a director in the Burlington office of Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, the law firm he's practiced with since graduating from law school in 1989. He is a commercial litigator, with a focus on land use, real property and permit litigation. This March, he retired after eight years of service on the Williston Selectboard. Among other things, Chris has previously served on the Vermont Environmental Board, the Lake Champlain Quadricentennial Commission, the Vermont Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and the Burlington Planning Commission. Chris has always been fascinated by the intersection between land use, public policy, economics, and the law. This goes back to when, as young children growing up in Barre, he and his brother used to draw out large street maps for imaginary municipalities on rolls of newsprint. His brother is now a transportation engineer in Albany, NY. Chris' diverse background and interests eventually led him to service on the Williston Selectboard and, ultimately, appointment to the CCRPC. With three sons currently aged 10 through 20, most of Chris' spare time over the last decade has been devoted to coaching youth sports, particularly hockey and football, but also including baseball and lacrosse. Chris enjoys working with children, discovering what makes them tick, and developing ways to motivate and teach them based upon their unique sets of abilities and perspectives.
