First Student Bus Alert System |
Dear Parents of KIPP Metro Atlanta Bus Riders,
Keeping parents informed and involved helps to ensure student safety and improve student success. With today's on-the-go lifestyles, it has become more difficult to reach families quickly and effectively. This is why First Student has teamed up with Honeywell Instant Alert to implement a new alert program.
Instant Alert for Schools is an essential tool for notification and communication. Within minutes of a bus delay or cancelation, First Student can use the Instant Alert to deliver a single, clear message to the students' parents or guardians by telephone, cell phone, email and/or in any combination.
Instant Alert is internet based, allowing each family to maintain a secure password protected online profile. Maintaining the accuracy of your profile will increase the ability to keep you informed with bus delays and changes.
Your online profile will enable you to:
- Input your personal contact information
- Select which type of bus information you would like to receive on each of you contact devices
- Set the days and time of day you would like to your phone device to receive alerts
- View the alerts that have been sent to you in the past
The system will be ready for you to use at http://instantalert.honeywell.com on Monday February 8, 2016. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity, as we will be utilizing this system for our bus communications.
As an initial test, First Student sent out a test message on Thursday, February 4, 2016. If you did not receive a test message, please contact First Student at 404-733-1342 to verify your information in our Honeywell system.
Again, we are very excited about our partnership with Honeywell to be able to provide KIPP families with bus communications to keep your families notified and safe.
Thanks,
Ryan Elcombe
