Family,

A poem for you in honor of our focus this trimester on the value of LOVE.

Whose Child is This?
Author Unknown

"Whose child is this?" I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play
"Mine", said the parent with a tender smile
"Mine to keep a little while
To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear
To prepare him that he may always be good
And each day do the things he should"

"Whose child is this?" I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile
"Mine, to keep just for a little while
To teach him how to be gentle and kind
To train and direct his dear little mind
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school"

"Whose child is this?" I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
"Ours" said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child
"Ours to love and train together
Ours this blessed task forever."

We appreciate you.  Thank you for all that you do to ensure that your scholar is successful.  The journey continues and we will continue to do it TOGETHER!!!!

With my whole heart,

KVP Field Trip to Cobb Energy Center for a performance of "Feet Don't Fail Me Now"
All scholars, K -2, who have paid the annual fee will have the opportunity to watch a mesmerizing tap dance performance. If you have been selected to chaperone this trip you should have received a confirmation email from me.

For your future reference, we always select the first 5-8 parents (depending on the number of chaperones needed) who submitted the online permission slip and who stated they would like to chaperone. If this first group of parents is not able to chaperone, we continue to go down the list until we have all the chaperones we need.

Stay tuned for information on a whole school trip (that means everybody) on December 2!

What are you Thankful for?

The month of November marks the beginning of holiday season and end of a calendar year. November is an extra special time to express gratitude with the Thanksgiving holiday.  While you are enjoying your holiday time with loved ones, here is an activity that all ages can participate in:

Thanksgiving Alphabet Game
Everyone has their own sheet and each person has to come up with at least one word for each letter of the alphabet that describes what they are thankful for. Pass out the papers early in the day, so everyone has plenty of time to think about it.  Later, at meal time go around the table with each letter of the alphabet and say what you are thankful for.  It makes for great memories and fun table conversation!
