8th Grade Team and Family Updates
Kiambote Families!

It is was with great sadness that we said farewell to Tarik Davis mid-semester this year due to a family emergency that required his immediate attention. Fortunately, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Stephanie Murray to our 8th grade team and family.  Ms. Murray comes to us with 2 years of experience teaching scholars English in high school, and last semester served as our 7th grade ELA Teacher.   I am confident Ms. Murray will provide your KIPPsters with a high-quality education. She has already been in the classroom 4 days last week and led engaging lessons that are only the beginning of growing your scholars' passion for Reading and English Language Arts. Ms. Murray will be with the 8th Grade Team this week during KIPPster Support Conferences and we look forward to all meeting her. You can also expect to receive her course syllabus which will come home in next week's Tuesday packet.

Additionally, Mr. Dawsey has moved from teaching 8th grade ELA to now teaching 8th grade Social Studies.  Mr. Dawsey taught Social Studies prior to teaching ELA, and is excited to extend his expertise in this content area to our KVA scholars.   Please look for Mr. Dawsey's new Social Studies syllabus to come home in next week's Tuesday packet.

We are excited about the changes that are occurring in 8th grade, and expect to have a strong year with all scholars, parents, and teachers Reaching Higher Together.

In Partnership,

Chenneil Brown
