Walker Guidelines and Permission Slips |
As you know, we take safety very seriously at KIPP Vision Academy. Therefore, if you plan for your scholar to walk from KIPP Vision Academy at the conclusion of each school day please take the time to come into our Main Office and fill out a Walker Permission Slip as long as you live within a 1-mile radius of KIPP Vision Academy.
We will not allow KIPPsters that are not actual walkers to leave our campus and meet family members anywhere other than our normal Carpool Lot. The parking lot on the other side of the KIPP Vision Primary playground and the apartments across the street from our school are not KIPP Vision Academy property and your scholar should not be walking there and waiting unattended. This is a MAJOR safety concern and can lead to student behaviors that impact their learning. In the best interest of our scholars we are limiting Walker privileges to only those KIPPsters who live within a 1-mile radius from the school. If your Home Address is more than 1-mile away from KIPP Vision Academy, your scholar should be on their assigned bus route or should be waiting until you pick them up from our Carpool door. If your scholar walks to a different address, please complete a change of address form and update your registration information in our Main Office or online.
It is our priority that we work together with you to keep your KIPPsters safe, therefore we must know where all of our scholars are dismissing to in the afternoon. Thank you for helping us to ensure that all KIPPsters get home safely.
