Last month, Jim Sweeney of Franklinton Development Association (FDA) announced his plans to step down from his long held position as Executive Director. This month, FDA announced that Jack Storey will lead the CDC as the new Executive Director.

The Collaborative recently sat down with Jim and Jack to reflect on the FDA's many accomplishments and their vision for the future of Franklinton.

Parcels to Places Update

Parcels to Places, the initiative to source innovative ideas to redevelop vacant lots in Columbus and Franklin County, was launched in February with over 100 community members in attendance at the kick off event.

A 9-member advisory panel narrowed down 24 initial proposals for public feedback. In April, a public exhibition was held at the King Arts Complex with 13 semi-finalists presenting proposals to the public in an open house gallery format.

The advisory panel selected 9 finalist proposals to receive grants ranging from $9,000-$30,000. Follow the link below for a summary of the selected projects.
