Meet the Artists this Thursday!

Meet acclaimed painter Rebecca Kahrs and eleven of her students during their opening reception on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in our Art Gallery, located at 1352 Eisenhower Drive. Their show hangs through March and, as always, a portion of sales benefits the Daily Impact Fund, providing extra patient services not covered by Medicare or insurances.

Known primarily as an expert watercolorist, Rebecca draws on over 30 years of painting experience to teach both watercolor and oil classes.  She is joined by students Eleanor Blood, Donna Bouchillon, Joan Capen, Sue Cole, Nancy Dancu, Isabel Heller, Tina Kiger, Nancy Lieb, Liz McAdams, Joan Methfessel and Barby Townsend.

The Edel Caregiver Institute

Our Institute is a new concept and many have a hard time understanding what exactly we do! It is our hope that you will share the following information with anyone in your community who may benefit from the resources and support we offer.

Visit our website, www.EdelCaregiverInstitute.org and on the homepage you will notice the red button for These are open to everyone and include Chronic Sorrow: A Silent Phenomenon, focusing on the death of normalcy and the emotional toll on caregivers. In March, we will be hosting Dealing with Dementia Behaviors, a four-hour class to help the family caregiver gain a better understanding of the impact of dementia on the care recipient's  behavior.

Follow the green button on the Homepage for information on our Caregiver Classes and Training and the Caregiver Support CalendarThese regularly scheduled classes require a membership to the Edel Caregiver Institute, and membership scholarships are available. Thoughts from our Story Keeper, Suzi

"When I began my journey as Story Keeper for Hospice Savannah a little over six years ago I knew that it would be an honor to collect life stories and family messages from our patients. I knew that it would be interesting and enjoyable for me based on my love of history and fascination with human nature. I knew that I would collect as many stories from our veterans as possible and hoped that I would be able to help these patients reconcile war memories with the realities of their final days. These are the things I expected with story keeping. I did not expect the hundreds of delightful, fun-loving, gracious people I would meet who would make me laugh until my stomach ached, cry when I got into my car, thank God for the wonderful family and life I was blessed with, and be endlessly grateful for the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.  Read more here.
Thank you for your gifts
