Tree of Light Memorial less than a month away
2014 Tree of Light

Our Tree of Light ceremony offers those who are grieving a special time for hope, healing and remembrance. Join us on the patio of Full Circle on Sunday, December 6 at 5:15 p.m. to share stories, music, and candlelight as we honor those we love. Gifts to Tree of Light help Full Circle bereavement counselors provide grief support to any child or adult in our community - at no charge, and regardless of whether their loved one was a patient of Hospice Savannah. Donations must be received by next Friday in order to be listed in the event program. Donate securely here.  Be sure to click here to see a list of loved ones honored with a gift to Hospice Savannah during October.
Today is Veterans Day
veteran

We are proud to be a Level IV partner of the "We Honor Veterans" program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). In collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), we are part of a pioneering program focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment. Our goal is to honor and thank every veteran we care for and to ensure no veteran dies alone. Find out how to become involved or how to donate to this program here. Congratulations to Anne Stewart!
Ann Stewart and debra Larson

It was a privilege for our President and CEO, Debra Anthony Larson to spend time with Anne Stewart, recently honored at Armstrong State University's second annual Notable Alumni dinner for her life of exemplary service to others.  Anne chaired the United Way Task Force that brought hospice care to our community in 1979 and served as Hospice Savannah's first director. She expanded our scope of care to include inpatient care at Hospice House on Eisenhower Drive, which opened debt-free in 1992.  Watch Anne's inspiring video made in celebration of our 30th anniversary, six years ago.

Following his death, she enrolled in school and now shares her remarkable compassion and care with our Hospice House patients. We also congratulate employees Jamey Espina and Paula Hudson (pictured below) for their stellar work in bringing help to caregivers in our community through the Edel Caregiver Institute. They were recently named HealthCare Heroes by the Georgia Medical Society.
