Meet Cathy Laube, Our Food Pantry Queen!

"When I see a smile on somebody's face my entire spirit 'smiles back'. Our food pantry makes a difference to our families and I am so happy and truly humbled to be a part of this program," says volunteer Cathy Laube, Lead Volunteer for our new partnership with America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia.. Welcome and Thanks!

We welcomed William A. Baker, Jr., V.P. Operations, Colonial Group, Inc., as our new Hospice Savannah Board Chair at our annual meeting held March 28th at the Savannah Golf Club.

He replaces outgoing Chair Kacey Ratterree pictured receiving a plaque of appreciation from CEO, Debra Anthony Larson.

Also at the meeting, Foundation's VP, Megan Kerley, recognized the generosity of volunteer photographer, Dr. Les Wilkes. We thank him for the many, many images he shares with our patients, families and community on our website and in our most recent Annual Report.

Spouse or partner loss support group each Thursday morning at Full Circle in Savannah.

Survivors of Suicide
support group the third Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Full Circle in Savannah.

The 2013 Hospice Savannah Golf Tournament presented by Wells Fargo Insurance Services will be held Monday, May 13th at the Palmetto Course at The Landings Club.

Camp Aloha still accepting Campers

Our CEO Debra recently shared in her blog how meaningful the first weekend of May is to her:
"Each year I make plans to attend Camp Aloha as a volunteer. And each year I return home exhausted but profoundly moved by the experience.

Our Full Circle bereavement counselors and a small army of volunteers gently guide 60 to 70 children in facing their grief. They may be at Camp because of the death of a sibling or the murder of a parent - but whatever the reason, it is deeply healing to know that they are not alone. There is community in knowing that every one else has felt the same anger, the same isolation and loneliness, and experienced the same confusion.

I am greatly honored to play a small part in the healing of these children."
