The Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission is here to help with your production needs 
and our services are provided free of charge. 

The Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission is recognized by the County of Humboldt, County of Del Norte, and the California Film Commission as the official advocate for filming in Humboldt and Del Norte, California.  We are  also a member of the organization FLICS (Film Liaisons in California Statewide). The Film Commissioner, Cassandra Hesseltine, currently serves as the President of FLICS. 

Cassandra Hesseltine became the region's Film Commissioner in fall of 2010.  Prior to taking on the role of Film Commissioner, Cassandra worked in film and theater.

  • Second unit spent 10 days scouting and shooting in multiple locations: forests, beaches and rivers.
  • State parks were made available during peak tourist season
  • Park rangers assisted in ITC providing privacy during shoots in state parks
  • The production worked closely with local location manager/scout, Derek Bond
  • A local land trust provided a beach with closed public access during the shoot
  • Local lifeguard/EMT was on hand for water scenes
  • 6 local crew were hired as production assistants
  • The Red Lion Inn Eureka provided accommodations for all cast and crew
  • Cassaro's Catering provided top notch on-set catered meals and craft services

Red Lion Inn Eureka 
Sleeping up to 6 guests, the laid-back rooms and suites provide free Wi-Fi and TVs with premium cable channels, as well as microwaves, minifridges and desks. They also offer pillow-top mattresses and coffeemakers. Suites add living rooms with sofas; 2-bedroom suites have additional TVs.
Parking and an airport shuttle are free. Breakfast (fee) is served in an informal restaurant/bar that has a pool table. Amenities also include a fitness center, a heated outdoor pool and 6 meeting rooms. Pets are welcome for a fee. 
Cassaro's Catering
Provides world-class on-set catering and craft services for productions of all sizes. Able to accommodate special requests and dietary needs of cast and crew. Special touches include locally-sourced meats, breads, produce and steamed lemongrass towels (they are as fantastic as they sound!)  Click for more info
