Celebrating 100 Years of Filmmaking
in the Redwood Region
1916-2016
Ferndale is one of those unique, unforgettable towns in California, where it feels like you've travelled back in time to the Victorian era, with a dash of 'Western' thrown in. The homes, shops and offices are all preserved or restored to their original colorful and opulent "painted lady" facades. It's a visually stunning location, and this month we are highlighting two of Ferndale's gems - The Victorian Village Inn Hotel, and The Old Steeple at the Ferndale Music Company.

Newest Properties Added to our Location Catalog
We are excited to constantly be adding to our catalog of locations for filming in our gorgeous region.  We've recently added The Victorian Village Inn, and Ferndale Music Company, both located in beautiful Ferndale, California (southern Humboldt County).  The Inn is a perfect example of Victorian architecture and detail in its hey day, while the Old Steeple (Music Company) is a converted church, and has gorgeous stained glass windows, an incredible stage, and many other brilliant architectural details. (Click on either property to link to their websites!)

Ferndale Music Company
Virtually unchanged since the 1800s, Ferndale, California, is a living history museum of Victorian and other architectural treasures. Located in a verdant valley just a short (and picturesque) drive from Highway 101, Ferndale is closeby the Redwoods while having modern conveniences such as shops, inns, restaurants, entertainment and even a cinema.

The Old Steeple - originally a Methodist church, is now Ferndale Music Company! The cemetery is adjacent to the Old Steeple.

This year, we are celebrating our 100th year of filming in the Redwood Region. Ferndale has hosted its share of films, including the movies "The Majestic", starring Jim Carey, and "Outbreak", starring Dustin Hoffman and Rene Russo.
