Luis is a Creative Technologist from Seattle. He is an authoritative source on all things social medial. Tara and I had the opportunity to hear him on a panel at Western Regionals in Boise and he is "crazy smart", yet brings some common sense to the table.

Starting with the last issue,we had a new "S" on the end of Advents in the banner. Any thoughts where that "S" came from?

Headline on the cover of the new issue of FAST Co. "Wisdom from Pharell Williams, Anthony Bourdain, Tory Burch, the Dalai Lama and More."
(not sure what to make of a list that includes Bourdain and the Dalai Lama)

From an article about Dell Computers in 1987 when the company was called PC Limited, "When a computer is doing a time-consuming task, one is left wondering whether it has simply quit. [PC's Limited] red lights allow one to sip coffee while waiting, secure that the computer is working"
(that wasn't that long ago in dog years)

Since this is the last Advents of 2013, I just wanted to say that I hope each of you enjoys the season with your family and friends. Have a very, merry Christmas and look forward to an excellent new year. Cheers.
December 4, 2013
Lobby of the Holiday Inn, 4:00 PM until your mom calls and tells you to come home.

Our only meeting in December is on the 4th, in the lobby of the Holiday Inn. Sounds weird but it is actually kind of cool. All Ad Club members and guests are free, Ad Club members will get 2, count them 2, drink tickets.

The coolest part is that we are raising money for the Children's Receiving Home. How will we raise money you ask? There will be a Wheel of Fortune, generously loaned to us by KRTV, spin for $5 and win cool stuff, then there is a magic martini glass, every dollar you put in doubles on its way to the Receiving Home, and even 50/50, say it is $200, if you win, you get $100 and the Receiving Home gets $200. All the money that members donate gets matched by Ad Club. The check we give to them is basically signed by every one of our members.

That sounds like what this season should be about. We can each make a difference in how a child views the world and as a group, we can make a big difference.

President Julie's Message

At this time of year, I always feel like "words" should be few and gracious and "actions" should speak louder than words.

Although (as you all know) I am one who struggles with being short on words, I hope that my words have always been gracious and my actions have spoken loudly as to how much I appreciate all of you.

I appreciate your support of our club and our ongoing events and activities, your willingness to help whenever needed and most of all, I appreciate your encouragement and support as friends and colleagues.

I am thankful for each and every one of you and hope that your holidays are most blessed!

See you all at the Holiday Mixer on December 4th!

November 6, 2013 Business Meeting
Meadow Lark Country Club

Do you remember Julie's message in October where she was talking about the importance of functioning as a team? Well, we all saw the fruits of that labor with the results of the Celebrity Celebration and the Colors of Fall Committees. Their accomplishments went way beyond what any single individual could ever hope to do.

To put an exclamation point on our gratitude for the "Team" effort, Julie presented the committee members as well as the Ad Club Board of Directors, with a
TEAM Ad Club hat. Wow, a free hat. Well, not exactly. Each person receiving one has put in countless hours to make our organization the tremendous success that it is. The hat was just a small token of our appreciation.

There is a "free" hat just waiting for you!

Thank you!
Two special thank you's. First to Sandy Himmel of Shining Mountain Images. Sandy got the hats from concept to completion in just a week and donated the design time. Second thanks go to great Ad Club friend Marty Severson. Wee bitty is great for a car but not for a projector screen. Marty loaned us an 8 x 10 screen so we could do justice to the presentation. He came early to set it up and then popped back by to pack it up. Thanks Marty!

Does anyone else find it strange that two employees of KFBB have the same birthday? Is it possible that they are actually clones and rather than a birthday it is a manufacturing date? Or has the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination got our conspiracy theories working overtime?

Muchas Gracias
