Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) we rendezvous at Gettysburg! This is our final e-mail to help you in your preliminary study. Please watch the weather and wear comfortable field clothing appropriate to the season. Nothing here is physically demanding, and the forecast looks good, but Gore-tex, fleece, and water-resistant footwear are always good things to have! We hope all will be largely self-sufficient for chow and water both days afield.
If you did not sign up in-time to receive our previous 3 e-mails, they are posted to our archive page. While your preliminary studies might up to now have been focused on learning the history of the battle, please start focusing on LEADERSHIP and the timeless lessons you can bring to our discussions from both old times and new. You should plan on using the scraps of time given you during the day on Tuesday to orient yourself to the battlefield by personal reconnaissance, with a view toward integration of leadership lessons learned. To help guide your preparation, please read this classic piece by Douglas Southall Freeman on Leadership presented at the Naval War College (search for "Lecture of May 11, 1949").

Our introductory session starts at 1800 on Tuesday at the Firemen's Pavilion of the Gettysburg Area Recreation Authority, with food provided by Mission BBQ!
