This is our fourth weekly update sent to all registered participants. If you would like to read past e-mail updates on Shiloh, they will be posted to our archive page.
Here's an example from the participant guide you will receive on Sep 9th. Read through it (only 3 pages) and prepare to discuss. Your expectations should drive your preparations.
Do you expect that sometime in your future service you may have a plan that needs to be changed do to a changing environment -- especially in the fluid time of rapidly changing conditions as you take command of an incident? Do you expect that your organization and its leaders need to be able to rapidly adapt to changing circumstances? Do you expect that you may have to lead team and lead your boss in making the right decisions for the organization?
How do you prepare yourself and your organization to meet those expected challenges? What leadership tactics do you practice now that will set conditions for rapid and effective decision-making and operational adaptation? How do you prepare yourself for the day when you will need to convince your boss to make the right decision? How do you prepare yourself for when your boss makes the wrong decision? What do you do then...obey or disobey the orders? What if your boss is actually right and you are the one that is wrong?
We look forward to learning with you!
