Welcome to the Shiloh Staff Ride!

Staff rides consist of three phases:
  1. Preliminary Study
  2. Field Study
  3. Integration
We are all in the preliminary study phase, so as we get closer we will send you some thoughts periodically to help you think about the leadership challenges faced by our colleagues 153 years ago.

Once we meet in Corinth MS on Tuesday 24 Feb, we'll have participant guides for each of you.  Please read the Introduction to the guide now.  Can you relate to the operating conditions described by Private Henry Morton Stanley as he "deployed shelter"?  How about Captain Frank Posegate?  What do you think about his decision to disobey the orders of his Colonel...and order his unit to abandon the fire-line and move along their escape route to a safety zone?  In this case, Stanley was part of the "fire" that caused Posegate to act decisively to save his organization.

How does this relate to your leadership in your environment?

That's the kind of stuff we'll talk about on the ground where these actions took place.

We look forward to learning with you!
