We are all in the preliminary study phase, so each week we will send you some thoughts to help you think about the leadership challenges faced by our colleagues 152 years ago.
Once we meet in Corinth MS on Tuesday 9 Sep, we'll have participant guides for each of you. Please read the Introduction to the guide now. Can you relate to the operating conditions described by Private Henry Morton Stanley as he "deployed shelter"? How about Captain Frank Posegate? What do you think about his decision to disobey the orders of his Colonel...and order his unit to abandon the fire-line and move along their escape route to a safety zone? In this case, Stanley was part of the "fire" that caused Posegate to act decisively to save his organization.
