National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

NYLT is an exciting, action packed program designed to provide youth members of the Boy Scouts of America with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. NEW this year: opened to Venturing, male and female.

Through activities, presentations, challenging discussions, and audio-visual support, you will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give you the skills and confidence to lead well.

Through a wide range of activities, games, and adventures, participants will work and play together as they put into action the best that Scouting has to offer.

Upcoming Courses:

  • June 21-26 (registration ends 6/12)

Sea Scout Leaders: Have you seen the Fast Start Training module yet?

MyScouting
Confused between
MyScouting.org and
my.Scouting.org?

(the dot makes a difference!)

Currently, the BSA is developing the latter, my.Scouting, to be a powerful set of tools for leaders to manage the role or position they have volunteered for in Scouting. During the transition, however, some resources are still accessed through the legacy system, MyScouting, most notably updating your profile and taking online training courses. That's why there's still two systems and even though they're linked, it can be a little confusing. Sorry about that and thanks for bearing with us--the end result should be great!

Use the legacy system, MyScouting.org (https://myscouting.scouting.org/), as your starting point to create an account. If you already have a legacy MyScouting account, you may use your current username and password to access my.Scouting (https://my.scouting.org/). Please note: If you just created a MyScouting account, please allow 30 minutes for the accounts to synchronize before logging in to my.Scouting.

If you're a registered leader, please make sure to link your BSA member ID number to your account. This is the only way you'll be able to gain access to the tools and get credit for the online training courses you complete. Your unit leader may have your member ID, or you may contact the Cradle of Liberty Council at 610-688-6900 or registrar@colbsa.org.

Certain tools are available on your my.Scouting portal based on the role or position that you have in Scouting. For example: If you are a Key-3 leader in a unit (unit leader, committee chair, or chartered organization representative), you have the ability to manage your unit's roster, print membership cards, update profile information for members of your unit, create and manage sub organizations, and add training. The same can be said for districts, but a district Key-3 would have the ability to do that for their district and each of the units within that district.

ScoutingU will host a my.Scouting Tools training via Livestream on Wednesday, June 17, at 11:00 AM. The training will cover the following tools and the multiple uses each tool provides: My Dashboard, Organization Security Manager, Training Manager, and Member Manager.

Visit http://MyScoutingTools.kintera.org/ to register for the training and a livestream link will be sent to you. The session will also be recorded and posted on scouting.org/training.

Having trouble with your MyScouting account? Call the BSA Member Care Contact Center at 972-580-2489 or send an email to myscouting@scouting.org.
