Service Hour Reporting
|
Please don't forget that one of the objectives on the unit Journey to Excellence (JTE) scorecard deals with service projects. Giving back to the community goes to the heart of what Scouting is all about, and reporting your unit's service hours helps us share a compelling story with the community about the impact that you and your Scouts make each and every year. It'll also help your unit "Go for the Gold" when it comes to the JTE program.
So please make sure to log in to the Service Hours website before the year is out (preferably by the end of November if you can) and let us know about how your unit helped with the blood drive, Scouting for Food, Eagle projects, and all other service projects conducted throughout 2014.

Health & Safety Tip of the Month: BSA Incident Reporting Policy
|
The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. A key responsibility that we all share is providing an effective program that meets the needs of young people and provides the proper health and safety of everyone concerned.
It is important that we sustain the safe operation of our programs and promote continuous improvement through organizational learning. Timely and complete incident reports support analysis that is critical to identifying needed improvement of the programs offered by the Boy Scouts of America.
The Cradle of Liberty Council provides supplemental insurance (the $2 per year that each registered member pays at recharter). To file a claim, the form must be completed by the unit leader, signed by a district executive (or other professional staff member) and a parent and mailed directly to the insurance company at the address on the form. We recommend that copies of all paperwork submitted are kept by the parents.
