This includes all Scoutmasters and assistant Scoutmasters, Cubmasters and assistant Cubmasters, den leaders and assistant den leaders, Venturing crew advisors and assistant advisors, Varsity coaches and assistant coaches, Sea Scouting mates and skippers, committee chairs, and committee members.

All assistant Scoutmasters and assistant Venturing crew advisors must complete their basic training or they will not be registered in that position. Assistant Scoutmasters and assistant Venturing crew advisors age 21 and older can register and function as a member of the troop or crew committee if they choose to not complete their classroom-style leader training.

Venturing committee training is expected to be available from BSA National in spring of 2014 and will be mandatory for crew committee members at that time.

By dedicating 30 minutes of your time to complete this training, we are helping to ensure a quality program for all of the youth we serve through Scouting.

my.Scouting Tools Makeover
my.Scouting Tools has a new look. The new design is faster and more dynamic, and now supports Internet Explorer 10 and 11. Additional enhancements in this release include:
  • A revamped News section provides more space to post pertinent and relevant information about my.Scouting Tools, along with other Scouting news.
  • Each Tool icon is in a drop-down list under the Home button to select rather than in a row of large icons after logging in.
  • My Dashboard is now comprised of My Profile and My Training details. Address, contact information, phone numbers, etc., are in separate editable sections instead of one long section to accommodate and adjust to most mobile screens.
  • New My Organization Dashboard tool located under the unit or district organization level contains My Calendar and My Announcements details.

The Training Manager, Member Manager, and Organization Manager still maintain existing functionality and look that will be updated in the coming weeks.

The following new features are planned in the coming months:

  • Redesign of Organization Manager (assignment of functional roles and security, including Plus 3)
  • Commissioner Tools (replaces UVTS)
  • Advancement Manager
  • Targeted communication

Log into my.Scouting to see the new changes.

This change is to better facilitate communication in the council, including accommodating other program-specific newsletters. We'll also be updating the look and feel of the BSAT over the next several months, so stay tuned! If you have comments or suggestions, please email Greg Osborn, Director of Marketing.
