Thank you for your interest in expressing your feedback regarding the BSA's membership policy. We understand that people are passionate about this issue and about Scouting. We value everyone's feedback and appreciate you taking the time to share it with us.
The volunteer officers of the Boy Scouts of America's National Executive Board have directed their committees to further engage representatives of Scouting's membership and listen to their perspectives and concerns. This will assist the officers' work on a resolution on membership standards. The approximately 1,400 voting members of the national council will take action on the resolution at the national meeting in May 2013.
We are currently in the process of a careful and deliberate review of our membership policy. Scouting is a family and we believe it is important that every voice is heard. We are dedicated to the integrity of this process and trust that our 1,400 voting members of the national council will fairly and accurately determine the most appropriate path forward.

For more than 100 years, Scouting's role has been to equip children with life skills so they can make their own decisions about important issues. Our focus is on working together to deliver the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.
During this process, we will work to stay focused on that which unites us. Be a part of this discussion by staying engaged and continuing your role in Scouting. The kids in our community need you.
