PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

|
|

Hello Evergreen Families -
We hope you had a wonderful weekend outside enjoying the glorious sunshine. The school year is nearly finished and soon students will be outside enjoying the sunshine every day. We will certainly miss learning alongside them but we also know there is plenty of eager anticipation and excitement for summer vacation to arrive.
June usually provides us with many celebratory opportunities, as students complete summative projects and assessments and there are performances, celebrations, and other events to attend. The school year ends with a culminating crescendo of enthusiasm and excitement and this week is no exception. We will celebrate the Arts on Tuesday evening with a fantastic Art Show and Band Concert. We will celebrate with WEB students and leaders on Friday afternoon as we look back on all their growth and celebrate their successes with some fun and games outside. And we will also host a culminating event for 8th graders on Wednesday evening: the 8th grade celebration is an opportunity to smile, recognize, appreciate, and celebrate the accomplishments of our 8th graders and wish them well as they move on in the next steps of their academic journey. Our District's Vision Statement is: Every Student Future Ready, and our 8th graders have demonstrated competency, commitment, and accomplishment and are prepared for the next steps in their academic careers. We wish them well as they head off to Eastlake and Redmond High Schools or to whatever school they may attend next. For our 6th and 7th graders, we are excited to continue their academic journey with them at Evergreen Middle School next year. They, too, are ready for the next step in their academic journey as more mature learners.
There are many successes at Evergreen this year and we were grateful to experience them with your students. We saw tremendous growth in all facets of their lives: academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. We know that learning doesn't stop just because summer arrives and we look forward to all that next year holds as well.
This has been a fantastic year! Thank you for letting us celebrate your student's successes with them.
Cheers!
Principal
