PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Hello Evergreen Families -

This is the last week of October and it is amazing to think that nearly two months of the school year have transpired.  Our 1st Quarter closes on November 4 and students and staff have been working hard in classes.  When Associate Principals Balicki, Rudolph, Westra and I have been in classrooms, we have seen students diligently working and engaged in learning.  This is a testament to our hard working staff for creating engaging and appropriate learning experiences for our students.  And it is also a testament to our students for their eagerness in acquiring new learning.  We will continue to support students in their learning and offer supports if and when they struggle.

In addition to supporting students academically, we are also supporting students in their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.  The feedback we received from our Parent and Student Needs Assessments have been analyzed and evaluated and we are starting conversations for how we can best use this data to support our student and parent community.  We recognize the importance of supporting the whole child and want to create a safe space for them socially, emotionally, and behaviorally so they can thrive academically.  One of the ways we do that is through Spirit Weeks and having light-hearted moments at school.  This week will be a fun way for us to finish the 1st Quarter as we have dress up days all week and a Spirit Assembly on Friday.  Our students and staff are very excited to participate and it will be another fantastic opportunity to see our school community come together as Eagles.

We look forward to this week and every week at EMS.  It is a fantastic school with an amazing staff and outstanding students!  Disneyland is not the Happiest Place on Earth; Evergreen Middle School is!  Friday's Spirit Assembly and this week's dress up days will be a great way to celebrate all the hard work and accomplishments from this 1st Quarter.

As always, please let us know what questions you have and how we can best support you and your student.

Take care and have a great week and GO EAGLES!
