Novato: City Wants to Hear From You!
Frankly Speaking with Michael Frank, City Manager

 strolling
Opportunities abound to tell us what you think. Recently, we asked for your feedback on retail and services in Novato to guide us as we develop a citywide retail plan, this week we mailed out a

customer satisfaction survey, and starting this month, I am offering office hours at City Hall, for appointment or drop-in, to meet with community members who are interested in discussing City issues and sharing ideas. Our City is unique, as are the needs of our residents and businesses, and as we develop plans for the future we want to ensure that those needs are addressed.

There is no better time than the present to connect with us and participate in the decision-making that affects you and your quality of life. Our Council meetings are televised and are available on our website, and for the latest news, follow us on Facebook or Twitter and sign-up for our e-notification service.

Great things are happening in Novato. Be a part of it!

News Highlights

EV Charger install on Sherman Ave.This month, we have been hard at work laying the foundation for upcoming planning efforts. As mentioned in the City Manager's message above, we are surveying the community to find out where you shop and what your retail needs are to help us develop a retail strategy for our City, and we are also asking folks what City services are important to them and how we can improve. The results of that survey will help us with our budgeting process and planning our fiscal future.

A Reminder from the Novato Sanitary District

Are  yNovato Sanitary District logoou a business owner or own or manage a multi-family dwelling? If so, please be aware that as July 1, 2012, all businesses and public entities in the State of California that generate four cubic yards or more of waste per week and multi-family units of five or more are required to recycle.

This recent business and mult-family recycling requirement results from the passage of AB341, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting commercial solid waste to recycling and expanding opportunities for additional recycling services and facilities in California.

For more information on this requirement, or on waste reduction programs, go to www.novatosan.com or call 415.892.1694.
