Editing and Periodic Writing by Dr. Bob Stouffer, Superintendent
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (James 1:2-4)

Opening Quote, Scripture, and Prayer
|
Opening Puns of the Week:
The fattest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much pi.
I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island, but it turned out to be an optical Aleutian.
Quote of the Week:
"If the Lord says to give more than you think you are able to give, know that He will provide for you. Whether things are sailing smoothly or the bottom has dropped out, He is always trustworthy. You can count on Almighty God to keep His everlasting Word." (Charles Stanley, 1932-, American Pastor)
Scripture of the Week:
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
(Psalm 91:1-4, English Standard Version)
Prayer of the Week:
"Father God, I too often ignore that You are all-powerful. All things are possible in Your power, Lord. So, Father, when I am confronted by 'the snare of the fowler' and 'deadly pestilence,' please allow me to dwell in Your shelter, abide in Your shadow, find refuge in You, and run to You as my fortress. So help me, God. Amen."
