Editing and Periodic Writing by Dr. Bob Stouffer, Superintendent

PureJoy

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."  (James 1:2-4)
Did You Know?
Randy Stromley, Vice-President of the Des Moines Christian School Board, was in Dr. Bob's first ninth grade English class at Monroe Junior High School in Mason City, Iowa!

DMC Families,
WE MISS YOU ALREADY, and you've only
been on summer vacation for three days!

Opening Quote, Scripture, and Prayer

Opening Quote:

"We all claimed God as our God, but we had been serving lesser things." (Kelly Minter, 1966-, contemporary author, musician, and Bible teacher, in No Other Gods: Confronting Our Modern Day Idols)

Opening Scripture:

Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see. They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell. They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; and they do not make a sound in their throat. Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them.
(Psalm 115:3-8, English Standard Version)

Opening Prayer:

"Lord, Your Word and commandment tells me to have no other god before You, yet I so often look to other people and things as having more power than You. Those idols are wood and clay and metal, and they have no redeeming value in the Kingdom of heaven. Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to turn exclusively to you as my Lord and God. Keep me from idols. This summer, please work in my heart and mind to bring me into a MUCH closer relationship with you, and help me to progress in becoming more like Your Son, Jesus Christ. So help me, Father. Amen."

Secondary News
On Monday, June 10th from 7:00-8:00 p.m., DMCS will host a parent social media presentation entitled, "How to Keep Your Child Safe Online." This one-hour interactive presentation will be held in the Secondary Library and is open to ALL parents of students in Grades EE-12. Please come and learn how to guide your child's online activity, hear from other parents on how they monitor their child's online behavior, and walk away with tools and resources to engage your child in conversation about this topic. PTF News
DMCS collection programs are going strong!! We sent 19,000+ Box Tops this past weekend to General Mills, along with over 1,000 Campbell's labels and Land O'Lakes milk caps for their final submissions this year. We want to thank all of you who helped collect Box Tops, Campbell's labels, Tyson labels, and Land O'Lakes milk caps this past year. We had enough Campbell's labels to purchase the remaining jump batons needed, so every student in a physical education class can use one. We are still looking for a Campbell's/Tyson's coordinator. We are separating the Box Tops and Campbell's programs, as both have really grown this year. If you are interested in the Campbell's position, please visit the PTF page on the DMCS website.
