Opening Quote, Scripture, and Prayer
|
This Week's Opening Quote:
"My faith has no bed to sleep upon but omnipotence." (Samuel Rutherford, 1600-1661, Scottish theologian)
This Week's Scripture:
"I am the LORD. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back. . . ." (Ezekiel 24:14, English Standard Version)
This Week's Prayers:
"LORD, You are dependable. Whatever You speak does come to pass. You keep Your promises. You are true to Your word. You are mighty in power. You are omnipotent. You can do all things. With You, all things are possible. I rest in assurance that You know what is best, and I will continue to be obedient to You until my dying day, or until Your Son comes again. Amen."

A penny saved. . .In an effort to streamline and lower costs, the Development Office is changing our gift acknowledgement system to eliminate sending a year-end tax receipt (saving about 50 staff hours and $400 in mailing costs). How does this change affect you? We do NOT plan to send annual year-end tax receipts for 2013. Each gift - whether a one-time or monthly gift - will be acknowledged with a receipt. Please RETAIN EVERY DES MOINES CHRISTIAN SCHOOL RECEIPT for your 2013 tax records. We appreciate your generous support of DMCS. Sincerely, Samona Joy Yentes, Development Director

Closing Quote:
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' Alice asked. His response was a question: 'Where do you want to go?' 'I don't know,' Alice answered. 'Then,' said the cat, 'It doesn't matter.'" (From Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, 1832-1898, English mathematician and author)
