Opening Quote, Scripture, and Prayer
|
This Week's Opening Quote -
"The tears that you spill, the sorrowful, are sweeter than the laughter of snobs and the guffas of scoffers." (Kahil Gibran, 1883-1931, Lebanese-born American philosophical essayist, novelist, and poet)
This Week's Scripture - "Blessed is the godly person who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night." (Psalm 1:1-2, English Standard Version)
This Week's Prayer -
"Father God, I love You. But sometimes I love my friends more than I love You. Would You please allow me to love YOU more? Would you please allow me to choose my friends and time with my friends more wisely? I seek not to walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor to stand in the way of sinners, nor to sit in the seat of scoffers. Surround me with people who delight in You and Your Word. So help me, Lord. Amen."

Parking Lot Request
|
The new parking lot system seems to be working really well. With change -- and congestion of traffic -- come some challenges, though. An Early Education parent recently wrote, "My child is in the early education program (all day). It is becoming increasingly more difficult to pick her up safely in the afternoon (at 3:00-3:30 p.m.). I find that some of the parking spaces dedicated for pre-school pick-up only, are occupied by parents waiting for their children in the Secondary education programs to be dismissed from school. I was told to e-mail you about my concern. I can only imagine that this issue will become worse as the weather starts to change. My husband who drops her off in the morning tells me he finds the same problem to be true." Please, everyone, respect the signs for handicapped parking and Early Education parents! Thank you!

There, at the regional processing center, the shoe boxes are inspected and prepared for shipment worldwide. Notes from Chapel & Cross Trainers
|
I believe the fencer begins a match by proclaiming, "On-Guard!" Greater Life Community Church Senior Pastor Leray Glendenning essentially declared, "On- Guard!' to everyone in the Elementary Chapel on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. If you would like to read my "On-Guard!" summary of one of our favorite chapel speakers, please click here.
During CrossTrainers on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, DMCS Grandfather and accomplished Bible teacher Jim Mars did a marvelous job of helping men to understand the true source of biblical joy. If you would like to read my summary of Jim's message, "Joy Found Me!" please click here.
