Seedling Donation Program

The Liberty Prairie Foundation coordinates an annual seedling donation program in partnership with the Prairie Crossing farmers and organizations growing food for vulnerable populations.

This season we've connected area organizations with over 500 seedlings through generous donations from Midnight Sun Farm, Sandhill Family Farms, the Prairie Farm Corps, and Radical Root Farm via Conserve Lake County. Thank you for your seedling donations!

Recipient organizations growing food for area food pantries and/or under-resourced people include Village Homesteading Mundelein/Fremont Township Food Pantry Garden, Mano a Mano, The Chapel's Mundelein CARE Garden, Roberti House, The Chapel's Libertyville Community CARE Garden, and many others. If you would like to lend your gardening expertise and volunteer time to these community gardening projects, please contact these organizations.

If you know of an organization growing food for a food pantry, please email Lexie@libertyprairie.org so we can add them to our distribution list.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2014 Organic Plant Sale & Farm Open House on May 17!

If you purchased plants, please return your pots to the farm to be sanitized and reused next season. Pot recycling containers are at the front and back porches of the Yellow Farmhouse at the Prairie Crossing Farm.

We are only able to reuse certain pot types and sizes, so please only return pots from plants purchased at our event.
