Does dust cause downtime for your lift trucks?

Yale trucks are designed to help reduce your maintenance costs. A case in point is a case study conducted on Berger Recycling. A scrap metal and waste paper company, Berger was suffering from prolonged periods of lift truck downtime as a result of their facility's dust production. Our fellow Yale dealer in Rhode Island was able to upgrade Berger to a Yale truck with features that helped reduce Berger's operating costs. Click below to see how the Yale team did it.

You can have the same Yale truck and start reducing your operating costs. A Yale Veracitor GP060VX with sealed bearings and wet disc brakes could be your workhorse for $ 891.00 per month.

Parts Feature:  Danger, Warning & Caution Labels

Did you know OSHA says warning decals on forklifts must be in place and legible on your lift trucks?

In addition to the nameplate, forklifts may have other warning labels or decals that provide safety information to operators. Safety labels should be clearly visible to the operator and must be replaced if missing, damaged, or illegible.

 DangerWarningCaution

Under one classification system, there are three types of warning labels or decals:

DANGER - means if the danger is not avoided, it will cause death or serious injury.

WARNING - means if the warning is not heeded, it can cause death or serious injury.

CAUTION - means if the precaution is not taken, it may cause minor or moderate injury.

Safety Feature:  Basic Operator Training

When is Refresher Lift Truck Operator Training Necessary?

Forklift Training

OSHA requires employers to have trained and qualified trainers instruct their lift operators on the safe operation of the company's industrial trucks fleet. New operators must be trained prior to being given access to the company's forklifts. There are many reasons why operators are required by OSHA to get refresher training and evaluations.

Re-evaluations are required every three years

Train New Employees (before they are allowed to drive your trucks)

More Training is necessary if an operator has been determined to:

  • Need Additional Training During most recent Evaluation
  • When an Operator is Observed Operating a Truck in an Unsafe Manner
  • After a Near Miss
  • After an Accident
  • When asked to Operate a Different Type of Lift Truck or Changes in Workplace Occur

Rental Feature:   How to Rent A Lift Truck

This quick guide will help you in determining the proper equipment for your application, and answer many questions that you may have in selecting the proper equipment for the job.

YaleFullLine

  • CAPACITY/TRUCK SIZE:  In order to get the right size truck, you must know the weight of what you are picking up. Call the freight company, look it up in the product manual, or contact someone to help you. Once the weight is established, we can make sure you will get the right truck. Also, be aware of the dimensions and height of the product to get the proper fork length.
    • DON'T GUESS, THE WRONG TRUCK WILL NOT MOVE THE WEIGHT AND CAN CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION! Be safe, be smart, get the job done right.
  • LIFTING HEIGHT: Measure how high the truck needs to lift (usually in inches). Lift trucks are a reliable way to move product up to substantial heights. Remember that some forklifts might not fit through standard doors or entryways. Always measure doorways (width and height), aisles and any overhead obstructions. Also remember that the forklift will need room to turn around (possibly in an aisle). Your application might require a 3-wheel sit-down or a narrow aisle truck. Knowing this information guarantees the truck can do its job.
  • CUSHION TIRE/PNEUMATIC TIRE: What is the terrain that the truck must travel over? Concrete, blacktop, gravel, grass, or even dirt. Indoor applications on hard surfaces can always use cushion tires (cushion tires are smaller and made of a hard rubber compound, cushion tire units are also usually more compact and maneuverable). Outdoor or applications on softer terrain demand pneumatic tires. (Pneumatic tires are larger and have deeper traction grooves allowing travel over wet, rougher conditions).
  • DELIVERY INFO: Is the drop off point equipped with a loading dock or ground drop?
