This final characteristic is perhaps the most important. Once you purchase a forklift from your local dealer you should expect continued high-quality customer service. No business is going to be able to immediately fix everything for you all of the time, but the dealer you choose should do everything within their power to assist you. They should have a friendly, helpful staff as well as convenient hours of operation. Scheduling a service call, ordering a rental or parts should be stream-lined, uncomplicated processes. Local dealers will only thrive if their customers do, so taking care of you should be a priority to them.

Keeping these guidelines in mind when deciding on a forklift will help you save time, money and frustration in the long run. Remember to discuss any and all questions or concerns with your local dealer prior to the sale. This can help avoid confusion and possibly negative situations in the future. With these tips, your forklift purchasing should be a positive experience where you come out of the deal with the equipment you need at a price you can afford, knowing you have a strong team at your local dealer ready to help when you require service and support.

Following these general guidelines will help you make the most out of your short-term rental experience. Saving money, worry-free maintenance, instant response and quality customer service are all characteristics of a top-notch rental service. Service Feature:  Hoses & Fittings (Leaks)

Is your forklift leaking?  Are your hoses or fittings due for replacement.  Take a minute to review this nice tutorial on how to replace hydraulic hoses.

Forklifts,  construction equipment,  farm equipment, and other heavy equipment use a hydraulic pump, valve spools, and cylinders to perform their tasks. These components are interconnected with a series of steel tubes and steel reinforced rubber hoses, and the hydraulic oil may eventually begin to leak through these hoses, making it necessary to replace them. It can be a dirty job. What exactly do our factory trained service technicians do to fix this problem for you?

Finding the leaking hose by looking for wet hoses and dripping oil.

Locate the problem hose. This may be obvious if the hose has burst, since they typically handle oil at over 2000 PSI pressure, and one that bursts will discharge a large amount of oil in a short time. If the situation is a small leak, though, you will need to observe where the oil is dripping, and follow the wet trail it leaves to the source. Never use your hands or body parts to find the leak. Use cardboard, paper or hydraulic leak detection fluid so no oil injection is incurred. A good hydraulic shop stocks leak detection additives that assist on location the leak safely.

Check the fluid level in the machine, crank it up, and check for leaks. If you have had a chance to clean all surfaces that were soiled by the initial leak, any leaks that occur now will be much easier to spot. Keep in mind some hydraulic circuits will require bleeding to remove air from the system prior to using the machine. This is usually applied to steering and brake systems, but there are other situations where air can become trapped, such as a single action cylinder where the hydraulic supply is at a low point in the cylinder.

Contact our Service departments to schedule a service technician to come out and professionally repair your hydraulic leak.

Safety Feature:  Training New Hires

Do you operate forklifts outside? Are they trained for this?

When working outside, it is important to pay attention to the ground conditions. The ground might be wet; there might be soft spots, bumps or holes. An operator has to watch out for anything that might cause a load to shift or the truck to tip over. Remember, lift trucks do not have shocks or springs. That means that the wheels and axles will follow the surface of the ground.

Do you occasionally have the need to train one or two new hire employees on safe forklift operation?

One day each month we provide forklift operator training at our 3 facilities. You can easily get one or more employees trained in a timely manner. We follow-up the classroom training at our facility with driver evaluations at your plant.  Get more info on our website.

The classroom training is $99.00 per student and takes approximately four hours at one of our facilities. The evaluations are $15.00 per student per each truck he or she is evaluated on.

Call us to find out when our next session will be scheduled.  716-668-2722

Rental Feature:   Paper Industry Rentals

Adgressor

We can supply you with Long Term Rental forklifts to meet your needs. A Yale Cushion tired LP Gas fueled forklift in capacities from 7,000 to 12,000 lbs capacity equipped with a Paper Roll Clamp

We are pleased to announce we can equip your rental with features for the Paper Industry that is focused on applications where loose paper products material is present at floor level. May also be used in, but not limited to, Lumber Mills / Wood, Paper Processing & Recycled Paper Products. Yale trucks include features to reduce noise levels and vibration in the operator's compartment and to improve the performance of the cooling system for arduous applications. These improvements changed the airflow for engine cooling and increased the possibility of floor debris being pulled into the engine compartment. This option was designed for use in applications where this might occur. This kit will reduce the potential for fire by limiting the contact of paper / tissue scraps with hot surfaces under the hood. Maintaining a clean work environment and checking / cleaning under the hood for scraps of paper will still be required to minimize the risk of fire in paper industry applications.

Optional quick disconnect lower hooks and hydraulic couplers are available for quick removal of attachment. The paper roll clamp provides easy access to all valves and components.
