Dear friends,
The sultry days of August are here already, though in our neck of the woods we've had a few glorious fall-like days -- deep blue skies (yay, low humidity!), cooling breezes and plenty of sun mixed in with soaking rains. We delight with the plant community in the this beautiful weather!
As Earth tilts ever more to the north, we know that summer's end will come soon enough, yet August and September can bring more heat and wild summer weather. We do our best to walk through every day with attention and appreciation, no matter what comes our way.
This newsletter consists of only one "article", and that is a link to "
The Nuns of Bluestone Farm", a video that tells the farm story -- what we do and why we do it. The video is presented in three brief sections, and we hope you enjoy learning a little more about CHS and our variety of works.
On a similar note, on August 24 this year we will be celebrating our Foundation Day and the official close of our capital campaign (though the work will go on -- always that last little bit of financial support to be found!). This event, held at Melrose, will begin with a Eucharist at 2:00 pm, followed by light refreshments, a brief conversation, and farm tours for anyone interested. The event ends at 4:00. If you would like to join us, please do
let us know!
We hope you, too, are moving smoothly and peacefully through these deep days of summer, and we also hope you'll be able to join us in our August 24th celebration!
