Brrrrr... Still Chilly Out There
Let us help with your pet's footwork
Welcome to March! For many of us, the weather is still too cold to get out for our daily walks with our beloved pets. As a result, you may have noticed that your pets' nails are longer than usual. That's because their feet are not coming into regular contact with the pavement that can act an an emery board. In effect, the cold and snow are making it more difficult to maintain proper nail length. If you're hearing a clicking sound as your dog walks across the floor, it may be time to get him in for a nail trim. This month, we are featuring Nail Trim Tuesdays. It's our version of March Madness! Bring your pet in for a walk-in nail service on Tuesdays from 9-11 or 2-4 and get nails trimmed for $6.00 instead of the usual $8.00 service.
Special price does not apply to discounts already established for punch card users.

I noticed a curious thing this weekend. My dog followed me everywhere - and I mean EVERYWHERE. This isn't unusual in and of itself, but even by her standards, this was a lot of "Whacha doin? Whacha doin NOW?" kind of behavior. She's bored. She gets lots of time watching out the window, waiting for squirrels to make an appearance, but with the weather being... unpredictable, it's difficult for her to get out and burn off that extra energy. So, I came up with a plan to help her with the winter blahs: - The brush out - I spend five minutes each day brushing a different area of her coat. She loves the attention and it's helping to work out the shedding and tangles that are unavoidable this time of year.
- Quality foot time - My pet is not a fan of nail trims. This doesn't make it fun when it's time for her grooming appointment. I make sure to touch her feet every day, making sure to get between the toes and pads. This helps her get used to the idea when it's time for grooming.
- The race - She's at my side, following me around like she's training for the Hound Olympics. Why not make it fun - and get in some exercise - at the same time? We chase each other around the house, up and down stairs, around the dining room table... wherever we find the space. She loves it! It helps calm her anxiety and I get in some much needed cardio.
Even though we were stuck inside, we had a lot of fun! I can't wait for today's event - hide and seek. If you have any fun ideas for beating the winter blahs, send them to me at joellea@paragonpetschool.com
